EDG Exams Week 9

A reminder to all our senior students that the EDG Exams (Emergency Derived Grade) will take place in Week 9. Strong encouragement to begin preparation for these exams as soon as possible.

Please be reminded that these results count towards derived grades as well as LCEA (Local Certificate of Educational Achievement). Derived grades can only be applied for under extenuating circumstances.

Filming Around Campus - Hope Channel

Through the support of Hope Channel NZ, LAC has been blessed with the opportunity of filming a promotional video. Hope Channel NZ is the Adventist Television station for NZ, available to all televisions through Satellite (channel 204) and Freeview (channel 27).

Last Term Hope NZ's film crew interviewed some seniors students and staff to feature in the promotional video. Now that the hours' of footage has been analysed cut down into a roughly 6min video, the team will return to LAC to film background footage to accompany the interviews.

During Week 1 of Term 3, the film crew will be filming B-Roll footage (background video, without sound) around campus. Sports teams, some classes and school chapel will be filmed along with drone footage of campus (please pray for good weather!).

We will make sure not to include any student listed on the restricted publishing list. However, if you have any particular objection to your child possibly appearing in the background of videos, could you please email me as soon as possible: eifionp@lac.school.nz

Once completed, LAC will use the video to promote the school online across the Pacific. There will also be the possibility that it will be broadcast nationally through Hope Channel.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

NZ Police 105 Non-Emergency

NZ Police recently launched a new non emergency number, 105. We’ve done this to make it easier to get hold of us in the event of non-urgent situations or ‘Things which have Already Happened’, which don’t require Police assistance immediately.

You can call us on 105 for all non emergencies, or you can go online at 105.police.govt.nz to report things like:

- Lost property

- Theft for a public place or car

- Intentional property damage

- Or to get an update or add info to a previous report

In the event of an emergency, always call 111 - Things that are Happening Now.

Collateral

All the collateral (posters, brochures) are available to be printed out from the resources page at 105.police.govt.nz.  If you would like to be sent any collateral, please email 105@police.govt.nz
