Year 7, 8 and 9 had a fantastic two days as we partnered up with Kelly Sports to offer all sorts of activities to build resilience and teamwork amongst our students. On Monday, we travelled by bus out to Linton Army Camp where we were able to use their incredible facilities to take part in team challenges of varying kinds, sample a Battle PT session and swim in their pool. The students were a pleasure to watch as they persevered to overcome challenges and comfort zones and really pulled together to show teamwork and character. We saw many potential young leaders in our groups. On Tuesday, Kelly Sports team of Zac, Nic and Phillip came out to LAC to run further team building and fun. The students really rose to the challenges they faced and we are extremely proud of them.
On Wednesday, the year 7&8 students headed to the Lido for some fun in the sun, except the sun disappeared for the day. However, this did not stop them from making the most of the time out of the classroom to play and bond with friends. Due to the continued showery weather, we then had to change our afternoon plan of going to the esplanade to a trip to Cloud 9. Again, the students were a delight to take out and staff and students alike had a fantastic day! We look forward to weeks 8 and 9 where we are able to get out and about again. The students deserve it for their hard work in what has been a challenging year.
This year has been a bit of a struggle for a lot of students and teachers, but we got through the worst of it. We had done a lot of hard work in terms 3 and the beginning of term 4 and it all paid off in week 6 when we got to do all the fun and exciting things. We started off with the trip to Linton Army Camp to do some activities with Kelly Sports. We did lots of fun things like swimming in their Olympic swimming pool. It was so deep it was 2 meters at the shallow end!! We did lots of active games like capture the flag and basketball and we did team building activities by moving a pipe, plank of wood and a tyre. I think the trip to Linton Army Camp was my favourite bit of the week.
