Children’s Book
Term 3 was a busy term for us working on our children’s book. What a process and a learning experience this has been for all! We are still working with our printer to get them formatted and sized just right so they are ready to be printed. Thank you for your patience while we get this sorted.
Cultural Day
On Thursday, November 21st, we would like to invite all of our Year 7&8 parents, caregivers and whānau to our Cultural Celebration day. We will be showcasing our learning from this term with presentations from the students. There will be a variety of ‘stations’ set up in the cafeteria between 12.00 pm – 2.00 pm, and you may even get to sample some delicacies. There may be some things you can help your child with at home in preparation for this day too. Both the task sheet and the marking schedule are in the Google Classroom.
Activity Week
The last week of term is always a busy one for our Learning Area where we aim to have as much fun as possible, reward ourselves for all the work we have done throughout the year and enjoy some time together. We have many exciting things planned including going to a trampoline park, an esplanade visit, a formal dinner out and a pool party, just to name a few. More details will follow as activities and bookings are finalised.
Pa Jack’s visit
On the 30th October, the year 7&8’s spent an hour with Pa Jack learning about culture. We also learnt about different styles of leadership and what type we each have. The students were engaged and found it all very interesting. We look forward to working with Pa Jack in the future.
Art Intensive
We have spent some time doing an Art Intensive unit with Mrs Hignett over the past few days. The students have really enjoyed spending time in the art room learning about the colour wheel and some specific skills around painting. We have some talented students in our Intermediate Learning Area.
